We're here in the rain forest of Costa Rica, managing a Tree House B&B, where the tree houses (seven total) are high amongst the trees...our neighbors consist of loads of hummingbirds, some monkeys, sloths, frogs, snakes, iguanas, geckos and various other critters...we look forward to sharing with you some pics and blog entries as we continue on our jungle journey...

Toot, toot. . .
It's not often that we toot our own horn here (except to family members, who make up 2/3 of the 3 readers of the blog and are already tired of hearing about it) but when Lucy logged onto TripAdvisor.com the other day to see if we had been praised or flamed, she was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel had been named one of the top hotels by the Web site.
There's no red carpet, no paparazzi (the art department is still holding out), or groupies.
The award is for best service, and we're in the top 25 for all of Central America, at No. 16.
Basically, we're guessing, that we got more good reviews than bad in 2011 and that's a nice thing to see.
TripAdvisor.com has its ups and downs (they once put another hotel's reviews on our site, and they weren't flattering) but more and more folks are using the site these days when they are deciding how to spend their hard-earned moolah.
So, long-winded post short: you don't have to take our biased word at how good a spot this is, there are others that will attest to that fact.
